Bluebell Montessori's mission, goal and purpose is to provide the children of Fredericton with an authentic Montessori experience rooted in a three year cycle of learning, during which we provide the keys to unlocking the child's sense of wonder, independence, curiosity, joy and community. We strive to reveal the child's natural tendencies of peace, stewardship and love for all living things.
"The child is endowed with an inner power that can guide us to a more luminous future. Education should no longer be mostly imparting of knowledge, but must take a new path, seeking the release of human potentiality." Dr. Maria Montessori, Education for a New World.
Bluebell Montessori is a privately owned and operated preschool and kindergarten. Children begin at age three and continue in our multi-aged setting until the end of their kindergarten year. We operate from September to June.
Hours of Operation: 8-4:30
Monthly Tuition: $875 (full day) $500 (half day)
Our classroom areas are meticulously prepared to allow for independent learning, engagement, and exploration in order to best serve the child and allow them to discover and reveal their true potential.
The Practical Life lessons provide a pathway to independence and self-actualization as children become active caretakers of their environment, their community and themselves.
The Montessori Math materials provide the child with the opportunity to work with materialized abstractions of mathematical concepts. Through exploration, sensorial manipulation and repetition of these materials, the concepts become a permanent part of the child's learning.
The Sensorial materials give the child a physical way to experience abstract concepts, refine and develop the senses and provide a rich foundation for future learning.
The Montessori Language curriculum aligns beautifully with the principles of Science of Reading , with an emphasis on phonological and phonemic awareness combined with phonics, to provide a strong foundation for de-coding, reading and a lifelong love of language and literacy.
The Montessori Cosmic curriculum aims to instill in the child a sense of wonder and curiosity about the world around them with emphasis on diversity, geography, science, nature, social responsibility, and a love and understanding of the univserse.
Our century-old character home provides a beautiful and traditional Montessori environment, which contributes to the child's sense of ownership, community and love of their school. Bluebell Montessori School is a second home to the children, families and guides of the Bluebell community.
It is essential that Montessori teachers prepare themselves through practices of renewal and self-reflection so they are at their best for the children they guide. This transformational process begins in teacher training and continues throughout a Montessori teacher's career and for the duration of their life.
